Day-to-day, Vaillant boilers are quiet, very well laid out for servicing, and the sensoCOMFORT weather-compensating thermostat is genuinely one of the best heating controls you can buy. Modulation on the ecoTEC plus goes down to roughly 1:7, which means it sips gas on milder days. Parts availability through the Belper supply chain is excellent and the green rabbit is a familiar sight on UK service vans — every Gas Safe engineer in the country knows how to look after one. Our minor gripes: Vaillant is rarely the cheapest sticker price, the entry-level ecoFIT pro is a touch louder than the ecoTEC plus, and the smart-thermostat app, while excellent for heating control, isn't quite as slick visually as Hive or Nest. But for build quality, longevity and resale appeal, very few brands touch it.
