Clayton-le-Woods sits right on our doorstep and is one of the areas we cover most often. The village straddles two postcodes and two very different housing types — older stone-built semis and cottages toward Cuerden, and newer estates pushing out toward Lostock Hall.
The single most common call we take in Clayton-le-Woods is a running toilet — a fill valve that never quite closes, a flush lever that refuses to reset, or a worn flush-valve seal that's silently emptying the cistern into the pan.
